Associate Professor Dmitry Akimov, a representative of the Department of Automatic Systems at the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, participated in the 11th International Conference "Achievements of the Chinese Electronics Industry in the Production of Highly Reliable Electronic Components for Critical Applications." The conference, organized by the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, focused on microelectronics for domestic applications. Participants from the Russian community discussed the use of FPGA (field-programmable gate array) with a neural network module for fundamental research into control systems for rovers, aircraft, and space landing modules.

The Department of Automatic Systems is conducting research into promising control systems for space robotic rovers under the supervision of Dmitry Akimov. Specifically, a prototype rover is being developed for a mission to Saturn's moon Titan. The rover's development is based on the results of research conducted by the “Tourist-Gulliver” robotic rover, which participated in the Mars-500 project in 2011.
