Dear Colleagues! I sincerely congratulate you on Victory Day!

May 9 is a date that is a symbol of unprecedented heroism and unity of our people, loyalty to our Motherland. On this holiday, we are particularly overwhelmed with pride for the victors in the war who liberated the world from fascism. Our veterans have gone through terrible trials, and we sacredly honor their military and labor exploits.

The terrible events of those years did also tell on the sphere of education. The Moscow Correspondence Institute of the Metalworking Industry (the future MGUPI, which became part of ����Vlog��ý MIREA) was one of the few universities in the capital that did not leave Moscow throughout the war and worked without any interruption. The University continuously trained personnel for the defense industry. Moscow State University of Fine Chemical Technologies named after M.V. Lomonosov (the current Lomonosov Institute of Chemical Technologies) made a number of discoveries that were significant for the front. Established after the war, the All-Union Correspondence Energy Institute for the Training and Improvement of Engineers (the predecessor of ����Vlog��ý MIREA) helped to fill the shortage of badly needed personnel.

We, the successors of that generation, are infinitely grateful to those who survived those terrible years in the heroic struggle for the freedom and independence of our Motherland. May the Victory Day give new strength in consolidating and uniting our Fatherland.
