What kind of program is this?

From September 1, 2022, on the basis of ����Vlog��ý MIREA, training will begin in a new undergraduate profile – Digital complexes, systems and networks. The training program was created jointly with Samsung. Training will be conducted within the framework of the training program 09.03.01 Informatics and Computer Engineering.

What can students learn at this program course?

Students will study the design, development, maintenance, operation and programming of devices, complexes, systems and networks that are designed for storing and processing data, solving automation problems. The training program is concentrated on the development of system software.

The major subjects of the program are listed below:

• Development and programming of microprocessor systems

• Design of computer systems

• Design and development of FPGA-based systems

• Architecture of processors and microprocessors

• Programming of neuroprocessors

• Technology of operation of computer complexes and systems

• Reliability of software and hardware of computer systems

• System software

Where and how does the training take place?

The training will be conducted at the ����Vlog��ý MIREA subdivision – the Institute of Information Technologies. For the purpose of internship advanced educational laboratories in electrical engineering, electronics and microprocessor technology have been created. They are equipped with modern laboratory stands, debug boards with industrial microprocessors and allow prototyping hardware and software systems for a wide range of tasks.

Classes in the major subjects of the new program will be conducted by highly qualified lecturers and trainers from ����Vlog��ý MIREA, including those certified by Samsung.

Information about the program partner

Samsung Electronics is one of the key strategic industrial partners of ����Vlog��ý MIREA. The Samsung IT Academy social and educational program which is implemented as part of the Samsung Innovation Campus global initiative, has been operating at the University since 2017 on the basis of the Institute of Information Technologies.

����Vlog��ý MIREA is the only university in Moscow and one of eight in Russia that trains students in all three tracks of the Samsung IT Academy project: the annual courses Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence and Mobile Development. On the basis of Altair Children's Technopark of the University, schoolchildren study on the basis of the free annual program “IT School Samsung”. Based on the results of the training, Samsung certificates are issued.

����Vlog��ý MIREA was named “University of the Year 2020” by Samsung for the quality of training and the maximum number of certified graduates of the Samsung IT Academy program out of three dozen Russian partner universities. Every year ����Vlog��ý MIREA students get impressive results at the interuniversity competition of student projects “IT Academy Samsung”, which confirms the high level of teaching at the University.

What about the learning outcomes?

Firstly, students get an opportunity to go to the graduate school. After completing the bachelor's degree program graduates of the program will be able to continue their education in the magistracy in specialty 09.04.01 Informatics and Computer Engineering, and increase the already acquired knowledge. They can also make their own choice with regard to another related master's program at ����Vlog��ý MIREA.

Internship. Studying in the final year of the bachelor's and master's programs, students can get the internship at Samsung Russian Research Center, thereafter there is a chance to receive a job offer.

Great career prospects. Graduates of this profile are in high demand by companies involved in the development of low-level software, as well as the development of the open-source projects. Here are some examples of professions in this area: project managers and development engineers of system software and frameworks, hardware and networks, microprocessor systems, systems on a chip.
