Anton Pavlovich Chekhov said about the Sparrow Hills: “Whoever wants to know Russia should take a look at Moscow from here.” In order to familiarize international students studying at the preparatory department for foreign citizens of the Institute of International Education with the history and culture of Russia, an excursion was organized to one of the main sights of Moscow – the Sparrow Hills.
Students from Afghanistan, Haiti, China, Indonesia, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Vietnam and Senegal under the guidance of professor A.Yu. Birler had an opportunity to view the main building of the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, observe the architectural features, visit the observation deck and admire the wonderful panoramic views of Moscow. During the tour, foreign students learned about the history of the creation of the first Russian university, the origin of the name of the district, the events and the life of the people who lived in this historical area.
