In 2020 Vlogý MIREA was the 4th in the ranking of the largest universities in terms of the number of enrolled applicants and the quality of admission procedure

According to the monitoring of the quality of the admission procedure to universities in 2020, MIREA – Vlogý took the 4th place in terms of the number of people enrolled on a budget and commercial basis in the rating of the largest universities of the country. According to this indicator, Vlogý MIREA bypassed such universities as the Ural Federal University named after the first President on Russia B.N. Yeltsin, the Moscow State University named after
M.V. Lomonosov, the Moscow State Technical University named after
N.E. Bauman and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

It is noteworthy that Vlogý MIREA became an absolute leader in Russia regarding the number of enrolled applicants in aggregated Informatics and Computer Science group (over 2 thousand applicants) and the aggregated group of Information Security (almost a thousand applicants). In addition, Vlogý MIREA became 4th in terms of the quality of admission procedure (the average USE score of those enrolled on the budgetary basis) among the largest universities with over 5 thousand people enrolled, and the account of its branches: the University has gone up in ranking as compared to the last year; and the average USE score of those enrolled in Vlogý MIREA on a budgetary basis increased by 1.5 points, while the USE score of the applicants enrolled to the paid-for places has increased by 3.1 points as compared to 2019.

Positive results have been achieved in a number of aggregated areas listed below:
  • the 4th place in the aggregated group of Mechanical Engineering (with the average USE score of those enrolled on a budgetary basis 75.3, which is an increase by 3.5 points);
  • the 8th place in the aggregated group of Geography (with the average USE score of those enrolled on a budgetary basis 75.6, with the growth of 0.8 points);
  • the 14th place in the aggregated group of Chemical and Biotechnology (with the average USE score of the enrolled on the budgetary basis 80.5, with the growth of 2.8points).
The monitoring was conducted by the Higher School of Economics, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and Yandex. The survey was based on the analysis of information presented on the websites of higher educational institutions (when necessary, the data was verified compared with the data of the admissions committees of universities and the Federal Information System (FISGIA).
All Russian universities admission to which is mainly based on the results of the Unified State Exam (in 2020, it is 461 universities, as well as their branches) participated in the monitoring.
