Institute of International Education participates in the scientific interuniversity seminar “Sociocultural adaptation and intercultural communication: Russian language in the interdisciplinary field of scientific research”

On March 23, the Russian Language Institute of RUDN University hosted a mixed-format academic seminar “Modern educational environment in the focus of innovative linguistic and linguo-didactic teachings” as part of a permanent academic seminar “Sociocultural adaptation and intercultural communication: the Russian language in the interdisciplinary field of scientific research.”

The event was attended by 118 people from 19 countries: Croatia, India, Montenegro, Syria, Vietnam, Mongolia, the Dominican Republic, Vietnam, Mauritania, Tunisia, Jordan, Slovakia, Italy, China, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia.

At the academic seminar, interesting and relevant presentations were made by outstanding scientists, experts in linguistics, linguodidactics, and linguoculturology. Vitold Albertovich Yasvin, Doctor of Psychology, Professor, made a presentation on the topic: “Modern educational environment: typological features.” Professor Irina Aleksandrovna Orekhova, Doctor of Pedagogy, Editor-in-Chief of the Russian Language Abroad journal, spoke about the Russian language environment and its potential in the formation of the linguocultural competence of foreign students. Elkhan Heydarovich Azimov, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor, spoke with the audience about the modern digital environment for teaching Russian as a foreign language. Vladimir Alexandrovich Zhiltsov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, discussed with the participants of the seminar the topical issue of virtual worlds and virtual linguistic educational environments.

At this seminar, Vlogý MIREA was represented by the Department of Russian (as a foreign language) of the Institute of International Education. Elena Nikolaevna Tarasova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the Department of RFL IIR, acted as an expert at the academic seminar platform; the professors and lecturers of the department took part in a free discussion of the topics and areas mentioned above.
