Members of Advanced Microwave Electronics School Attend 3rd AMTEXPO Forum

On January 27, the 3rd International Forum on New Materials, Chemistry, and Technologies “AMTEXPO” took place at the Rossiya National Center, attended by leading Russian scientists, entrepreneurs, and government officials. The event was sponsored by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and led by the Kurchatov Research Institute.

Vlogý MIREA staff and students took part in thematic sessions on key areas of the “New Materials and Chemistry” national project:

  • Composite materials and additive technologies
  • Digital materials science and AI
  • Rare and rare-earth metals
  • Chemistry for materials science
  • New energy and technologies for the Arctic
  • Industry workforce potential
  • Application of new materials in aircraft manufacturing, transport, and electronics

The forum presented the first results of the national project “New Materials and Chemistry” and key achievements in creating modern materials for medicine, energy, transport, and space technologies. The national project’s objective is to achieve technological sovereignty in producing critically important materials. It is expected to help launch more than 130 new high-tech production facilities in Russia over the next five years.

Mikhail Kovalchuk, moderator of the plenary session titled “Chemistry and Materials — the Foundation of Technological Leadership,” noted that preserving technological sovereignty requires developing fundamental science and the ability to create new materials.

Anton Alikhanov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade, emphasized that all innovations of today are associated with materials, and that the state’s self-sufficiency in materials is the key prerequisite for its technological sovereignty and leadership.

The participants had the opportunity to learn about breakthrough Russian achievements in new materials and ask questions to the speakers.
