The All-Russian Conference with international participation “The Russian language in the modern scientific and educational space” was held on April 13 at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. Kazan Federal University, Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, St. Petersburg State University actively assisted in holding the event. The conference was organized with the support of the Russian Society of Teachers of the Russian Language and Literature (ROPRYAL), the Russkiy Mir Foundation. The conference was attended by lecturers and trainers of the Department of Russian (as a foreign language) of the Institute of International Education of Vlogý MIREA.

The conference program included presentations on a wide range of issues of theoretical and applied Russian studies, the format of the conference made it possible to share experience in the development and testing of academic disciplines in a foreign-language student audience, to present issues relevant to the modern concept of teaching Russian as a foreign language. In total, 135 presentations from more than 20 Russian and foreign universities were offered at the conference. Special sections heard the presentations on digital technologies in the study and teaching of languages and linguistic analysis of literary texts.

The teaching staff of the Department of Russian (as a foreign language) represented our university in every section of the conference. Professor E.N. Tarasova, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the Department, and Zh.O. Moskvina. Ph.D, senior lecturer of the University, made presentations at the section “Theory and Practice of Teaching the Russian Language in Different Linguistic and Cultural Environments”, V.V. Kablukov, Ph.D., Associate Professor, participated in the work of the section “Russian word in a literary text”, S.S. Gulyants, senior lecturer, made a presentation at the section “Russian Linguistic Culture in the Age of Globalization”. Apart from that, E.N. Tarasova took part in the round-table discussion “Russian as a foreign language at the present stage: theoretical foundations and teaching practice.”

The articles by the conference participants will be published in the collection of scholarly proceedings (RSCI) of the University.
