Vlogý MIREA hosted a regular meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS member states

On October 16, a regular meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS member states was hosted by MIREA – Vlogý – the core organization of the CIS member states for youth work. This year, the XXVII meeting was held in an unconventional online format. It should be noted that the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Republic of Moldova expressed their desire to cooperate in the area of youth work. Since 2020, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed a Decree on joining the Agreement of the CIS member states on cooperation in this sphere.
During the meeting, 11 issues were considered. It is worth a special mention that the participants discussed the topics dealing with the experience of countries in involving young people in the events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, as well as organizing a youth volunteer movement in the situation of the coronavirus pandemic, which is another topical issue.
The meeting also discussed the traditional issues relating to the work progress on the Action Plan for 2018-2020 to implement the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of the Independent States for the period of up to 2020, and the draft Action Plan for 2021-2022 to implement the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation.
The participants also discussed the progress of work on the Concept for the development of cooperation between the CIS member states in support of the youth volunteer movement and the work progress in the implementation of the Council’s decisions taken by the CIS member states core organizations on youth work and entrepreneurship.
The drafting of the Regulations Youth Capital of the CIS was also on the agenda. On the eve of the Council meeting, on October 7, the working group session was held to discuss this issue, and the regulations were finalized. It was proposed to submit the draft CIS Youth Capital Interstate Program to the Council meeting for further approval and adoption. The Council members supported the initiative and decided to organize the discussion of the draft Program in the CIS member states in order to prepare proposals and comments on this issue. The meeting was attended by members of the Council and representatives from all Commonwealth states that are members of the Council. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rosmolodezh (Youth of Russia organization - tr.), the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the CIS Executive Committee.
Grigory Petushkov, Chairman of the Council, thanked everyone for their active participation and fruitful work, and also handed over his governing powers for the next term to colleagues from Tajikistan; while he himself became Co-chairman of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS member states.
