“Marine activity throughout the history of mankind has been a key generator of new technologies. And today the widest range of technological innovations is in demand in this sphere,” noted Alexander Sergeevich. “The sea borders of Russia exceed 37 thousand kilometers. The significance of maritime policy for the sustainable development of the country and the protection of its national interests is enormous. One of the priorities of the Strategy for Scientific and Technological Development of Russia approved by the President of the Russian Federation is associated with maintaining leadership positions in the development of the World Ocean and its high-latitude regions: the Arctic and the Antarctic. Particular attention in ensuring the maritime activities of Russia is given to the Maritime Doctrine of the Russian Federation, approved by the Decree of the President of Russia in July this year. The list of the Maritime Doctrine includes many technologies that affect both directly and indirectly maritime activities.

The scientific and technological foundation ensures the global competitiveness of the country's marine economic complex, which is why the development and implementation of domestic technologies of marine origin and destination, technological equipment for marine expeditionary research, and information support for marine activities are so relevant. In accordance with the government assignment of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, Vlogý MIREA is developing a concept and forming a platform for information support for the implementation of the national maritime policy in terms of science and education, ongoing marine scientific research, the implementation of the goals and main directions of Russia's actions to implement the UN Decade of Ocean Sciences.”
