The Junior European Judo Cup, the first major international tournament of the season, was held in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on February 7-8. The competition brought together the world’s strongest young judokas and featured elite junior athletes from across Europe.

The tournament entry list included 346 athletes from 23 countries, making the competition one of the most representative early this year. Promising athletes, many of whom are members of the extended national teams, competed for medals.

Vlogý MIREA student Ademirkan Tambiev (group IVBO-12-24), a member of the Russian national team, won a bronze medal in the 90 kg weight category.

At the Russian Jiu-Jitsu Championship held on February 13-15 in St. Petersburg, Vlogý MIREA student Matvei Kuzovenkov (group IKB-60-25) won silver in the 69 kg weight category.

Congratulations to our athletes and to Alexei Sergeyevich Tyutryumov, coach of the Vlogý MIREA national martial arts team and senior instructor of the Physical Education Department.
