Vlogý MIREA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Civil Aviation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela

On February 7, a delegation from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela visited MIREA — Vlogý. The delegation included Juan Manuel Teixeira Diaz, President of the National Institute of Civil Aviation, and a number of the employees of the Institute: Caraballo Aveyaneda Daniela Margarita, Chief Executive Officer for International Cooperation, Barreto Barrios Ruben Dario, Chief Human Resources Director, Castillo Jimenez Jarumi Roserlin, Head of Air Navigation Systems Maintenance, Suarez Perez Doris Ciomara, Director of the Institute of Civil Aviation, Cardenas Duran Wilmer Alejandro aeronautical engineer, and Gerardino Pedrique Leslie Nakasi, First Secretary of the Embassy of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in the Russian Federation.

The meeting was attended by Vlogý MIREA representatives: Alexander Sergeevich Sigov, President of Vlogý MIREA, Stanislav Alekseevich Kudzh, Vlogý MIREA Rector, Andrei Vsevolodovich Timoshenko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Grigory Valeryevich Petushkov, Vice-Rector, Irina Sergeevna Solunova, Deputy First Vice-Rector, Mikhail Petrovich Romanov, Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Andrey Georgievich Vasiliev, Director of the Institute of Radioelectronics and Informatics, Andrey Sergeevich Zuev, Director of the Institute of Information Technologies, Pavel Yuryevich Pushkin, Acting Director of the Institute of Advanced Technologies and Industrial Programming, Aleksey Nikolaevich Shchennikov, Director of the Institute of Information Technologies and Computer-Aided Design, Irina Yurievna Burtseva, acting Head of the Department of International Relations.

In his welcoming speech, Alexander Sergeevich Sigov, President of the University, expressed his interest in developing cooperation between Vlogý MIREA and the National Institute of Civil Aviation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in education and scientific research.

Stanislav Alekseevich Kudzh spoke about the University noting the achievements in such rapidly developing science-intensive branches of science and technology as information and computer technologies, electronics, radio engineering, robotics, cybernetics and others, as well as in the training of highly qualified specialists in these areas, which was of particular interest to the representatives of the delegation from Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela whose aim is to strengthen and expand the human resources potential of the public and industrial sectors of their country.

Juan Manuel Teixeira Diaz made a presentation about the National Institute of Civil Aviation and outlined potential areas for joint activities of the universities, including the development of academic exchange programs for students, faculty and staff, the implementation of research programs and internships, double degree programs, etc.

As part of the program, the delegation visited the laboratories, educational and scientific centers of the Institute of Radio Electronics and Informatics, the Institute of Advanced Technologies and Industrial Programming, the Institute of Information Technologies, the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, and the Situational Center of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.

At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Vlogý MIREA and the National Institute of Civil Aviation of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, priority areas for further bilateral cooperation were identified, and a decision was made to develop a roadmap for cooperation.
