Vlogý MIREA students took part in the International Summer School in China

29.08.2023

Students of Vlogý MIREA had a busy summer – for example, several students took part in the International Summer Engineering School, organized by Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT). Over the course of two weeks, participants underwent intensive training in English in their chosen field, became acquainted with the history and culture of China, and made new friends. It was a bright and educational trip as part of the academic mobility program, the participants shared their impressions and emotions with us.

Ksenia, Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technologies:

“This year I very unexpectedly had the opportunity to participate in an international summer school based at Harbin Institute of Technology. The study itself was not only theoretical, but also practice-oriented, which is a definite pro for a chemistry student. And since the rest of the students in my group were either from China or South Korea, all communication was in English, and this, despite my good level of language, was sometimes difficult. Together with the Chinese students, who turned out to be tireless in search of adventure, we walked around a large part of the city and, among other things, visited many restaurants. I am grateful to Vlogý MIREA and HIT for the opportunity to participate in this program, and I hope for further cooperation between the universities, as well as between Russia and China.”

Anastasia, Institute of Information Technologies:

“This summer I attended a summer engineering school of Harbin Institute of Technology, where I studied “Computing for Future, Intelligence for Success”. For me it was an unforgettable journey that brought a lot of positive emotions, interesting acquaintances and knowledge. In training, much attention was devoted not only to theory, but also to practical training. In addition, the engineering school offered various excursions and free time activities. One cannot fail to note the hospitality shown by the school organizers. They did everything possible to make us feel comfortable and responded to all questions promptly. It's great that such programs exist. I wish that their number would only increase in the future. Thank you for such a great opportunity!”

Peter, Institute of Information Technologies:

“Despite some difficulties with obtaining a visa that we encountered at the first stage, everything else went perfectly! All the lectures were useful, and they were given by wonderful and extremely experienced lecturers. The campus where we resided had everything necessary: a three-story canteen building, offices of bank branches, a store, several cafes, a gym, basketball courts, and much more. It was a full-fledged city in which everything was within walking distance. Actually, I can talk about this trip endlessly, but I made only one conclusion for myself: this is an incredible experience that I will remember for the rest of my life and which cannot be repeated in the future just as an ordinary tourist trip. It was definitely worth the few challenges we had to overcome.”

Vladislav, Institute for Advanced Technologies and Industrial Programming:

“Thanks to this trip, I will remember the summer-2023 for a long time. While studying as an exchange student at Harbin Institute of Technology, I had the opportunity to not only gain practical experience in the field of machine learning, but also meet and communicate with wonderful people from different countries, and generally get closer to Chinese culture. I was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality of the local people and the taste of Chinese cuisine. I am grateful to Vlogý MIREA and the International Relations Department for the opportunity to gain this unforgettable experience, as well as to my colleagues from the University for the excellent company.”
