On November 7, the first meeting of the scientific and practical seminar "Specificity of the Adaptation Period of Foreign Students in the Russian Language Environment" was held at the Russian Language Department (as a Foreign Language) of the International Education Institute of Moscow Technological University.

The participants discussed scientific and educational issues: adaptation of foreign students in the Russian language environment; perception of the students learning the scientific style of speech; orientation in learning situations; a qualitative characteristic of knowledge, skills and habits acquired by students-inophones, formed as a result of the implementation of the communicative aspect of education.

Besides, the results of the questionnaire survey conducted by teachers of the Russian Language Department (as a Foreign Language) were analyzed to identify the most effective teaching methods for groups with different levels of language training.

The guest of the seminar and its active participant was Tatyana Pavlova Chepkova, professor of the Russian Language Department (as a Foreign Language) of the Institute of Philology of Moscow State Pedagogical University, who made the presentation "The Language Environment as a Factor of Forming the Personality of an Inophone".

When summarizing, it was unanimously noted that holding such seminars contributes to the professional development of teachers and positively affects the organization of the educational process.
