As part of the business program of the Army-2023 International Military-Technical Forum, a specialized round table was held, organized by the Shvabe holding of the Rostec State Corporation. The event was supported by the Union of Machine Builders of Russia.

The key topic of discussion was the creation of a comfortable environment for living in modern urban conditions. The event was attended by the leaders of the infrastructure projects market: Rostec State Corporation, Rosatom State Corporation and Rostelecom. During the round-table discussion chaired by Lev Borisov, Shvabe Deputy General Director, their representatives presented advanced solutions and discussed cooperation strategies for the most effective implementation of national projects.

The discussion was also attended by representatives of the Donbass Development Corporation State Concern, Urbantech group of companies, the BOOS LIGHTING GROUP International Lighting Corporation, MIREA – ����Vlog��ý, Russian University of Economics named after G.V. Plekhanov, and others. 

“The agenda of the meeting covered several areas, including transport security and ecology. Together with the invited experts, we evaluated the current situation in the regions and the effect of previously implemented solutions, and also discussed the solutions that can be used to help cities become even better,” said Lev Borisov.

“Together with our colleagues and the guest experts, we have comprehensively studied the issue of developing the urban environment. I am sure that the announced initiatives will be implemented in the near future, and we will get even more comfortable, safe and livable cities,” said Elena Semyonov.

The participants of the round table exchanged experience in the implementation of the national project “Housing and Urban Environment”, and in particular the departmental project “Smart City”, discussed the needs of the regions. The issues of systematic work with solid domestic waste in a metropolis, the modernization of outdoor lighting in municipalities, as well as improving the level of transport security in cities were discussed.

During the round table, Stanislav Kudzh, ����Vlog��ý MIREA Rector, spoke about creating a comfortable living environment as part of the third mission of a modern university. The speaker noted: “Modern challenges are such that the fulfillment of the two main tasks of the University, educational and scientific, is impossible without the active participation of the University in the life around it, this is its third mission. As a university, we see our role and contribution to the creation of a comfortable environment for life, to the implementation of the Smart City concept in three main areas:

• Development of technologies and solutions that make the city “Smart”;

• Train qualified specialists who mastered Smart City technologies;

• Development of ����Vlog��ý MIREA as a “Smart University”, actively using Smart City technologies in its activities and developing on the principles of a Smart City.

Speaking of research and development carried out at ����Vlog��ý MIREA in terms of solutions for the Smart City, it is worth highlighting the developments of the Center for Research on Generative Content and Attacks on Artificial Intelligence, which are important for implementing the concept of a safe city. An important and interesting project is the development of “Smart Audience” – a complex technology that combines smart light, climate control and photo and video recording technologies. A whole range of projects and research work in the transport complex of the city of Moscow for 2022-2025 has been sent to the MosTransProekt State Budgetary Institution.

The contribution of ����Vlog��ý MIREA to the training of personnel who own Smart City technologies is significant. Artificial intelligence technologies and big data analysis are mastered by students of all educational programs; educational programs are being implemented that form competencies in the technologies of the Internet of things, 5G, augmented and virtual reality, distributed databases, geoinformation technologies, and machine learning.

An important condition for the training of qualified personnel and the development of intellectual capital as the basis of a Smart City is the use of modern laboratory facilities in training, bringing the educational process closer to real practice. To this end, ����Vlog��ý MIREA has created and is constantly developing a complex of mega laboratories equipped with the most advanced equipment, which is actually a place for testing end-to-end technologies.

We strive to make our University smart, to make the interior of the University comfortable for both students and employees. Today, for the convenience of the students, a whole range of digital services is provided; for employees on the portal, there are many opportunities to meet various production needs. The use of electronic document management creates comfortable conditions for the labor functions and optimizes organizational communications. Introduced into the practice of the development of the University on digital services for schoolchildren and applicants.

The contribution of ����Vlog��ý MIREA to the development of the city and society will be tangible only with active cooperation with enterprises. Therefore, today among our main partners there are more than 70 enterprises, more than 20 leading Russian IT companies. Interaction with them is characterized by the expansion and deepening of partnerships. It is this strategy that allows us to develop and will continue to contribute to the full contribution of ����Vlog��ý MIREA to solving social development problems, one of which is related to the creation of a Smart City.”
