The Institute of Advanced Technologies and Industrial Programming of Vlogý MIREA developed a mathematical model for an in-depth analysis of data of COVID-19 patients which was used to create new methods for treating COVID-19-associated lung damage by inhaling ultra-low (non-cytotoxic) doses of the alkylating drug melphalan.
The results were published in the by co-authors:
E.A. Sinitsyn, A.A. Zykova, R.V. Shamin., A.V. Rvacheva, A.O. Bogatyreva, T.V. Shapovalenko., G.G. Maryin, K.A. Zykov. Efficacy and safety of ultra-low dose inhaled melphalan in the treatment of hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Acta Biomedica Scientifica. 2022;7(2):12-23.
According to R.V. Shamin, Director of the Institute of Advanced Technologies and Industrial Programming, in the newly created laboratory of industrial programming, work continues on the development of new algorithms for the intellectual analysis of medical data on patients with COVID-19, which will allow to create a digital twin of the patient.
