The Institute of International Education has successfully implemented a project to promote the Russian language abroad

The Department of the Russian Language (as a Foreign Language) of the Institute of International Education headed by Deputy First Vice-Rector I.S. Solunova, launched an additional professional advanced training program “Methodological tools and technologies for teaching the Russian language abroad”, aimed to popularize the Russian language and culture.

The goal of the program is to improve and form the competencies necessary for the professional activity of a teacher of Russian as a foreign language, including the skills and knowledge in professional activity: methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language, philology, linguistics, pedagogy, and cultural studies. The program was developed with the account of the needs of foreign teachers of Russian as a foreign language, teachers of the Russian language, literature, history, cultural studies.

From May 23 to June 5, almost 100 people from 7 countries, including Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, were trained under this program.

The teachers of the Department of Russian Language (as a Foreign Language) of the Institute of International Education told the audience about the global significance and status of the Russian language in online classes, introduced them to the normative and documentary base of the subject, illustrated modern approaches to teaching, methodological techniques and technologies for teaching the Russian language as foreign.

Also, within the framework of the program, a presentation of Vlogý MIREA was delivered, answers were given to the questions of lecturers and instructors of the Russian language – participants in the Program on the terms and conditions for admission and education at Vlogý MIREA.

At the end of the event, the students expressed their deepest gratitude to the Administration and Management of the University, as well as the Department of Russian (as a foreign language) of the Institute of International Education for the well-organized academic and methodological approach to the implementation of the program.
