The Institute of International Education held a tour of the Lomonosov Moscow State University grounds and the observation deck on Sparrow Hills for international students from Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Chad.

During the program foreign students learned about the biography of Mikhail Lomonosov and compared the leading universities in their countries: their histories, traditions, and contributions to the training of national personnel. They also learned about the architecture of the university's main building and its role in the development of Russian science and education. The tour participants shared their impressions of the higher education system in their home countries and compared the building styles of Moscow State University with those of renowned universities in their capitals. Of particular interest was the observation deck on Sparrow Hills, which offers views of the university complex, Russia's largest stadium, Luzhniki, and the historic center of Moscow.

The event allowed international students to admire the Moscow panorama from one of the city's most famous observation decks and learn about the history of Russia's premier university and the personality of its founder, the great scientist Mikhail Lomonosov.

The Institute of International Education is committed to broadening the cultural horizons of international students, strengthening interethnic dialogue, and introducing them to Russia's historical and cultural heritage through the lens of its educational traditions.

Such sightseeing tours are not new this academic year and have become a tradition. They are organized by the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language at the Institute of International Education.
