On September 16, students of the Institute of International Education from Azerbaijan, Algeria, Burundi, China, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan attended an educational tour of the historical center of Moscow.
The walking tour began at the walls of the former apothecary house which now houses the Historical Museum. Students walked along the fortress wall of the Moscow Kremlin, getting acquainted with the sights of the main square of Russia, learned the history of the construction of the first city buildings, touched the work of famous domestic and foreign architects, whose names were included in the chronicles of Moscow, and felt the amazing spirit of Moscow antiquity. The Front Place, the majestic St. Basil's Cathedral, the well-groomed Alexander Park with a “frozen” guard of honor at the Eternal Flame, the monument to Minin and Pozharsky, as well as the magnificent decoration of Manege Square complemented the impressions of foreign students about Moscow.
The tour ended at the walls of the first Russian university founded in 1755, and located opposite the Manege building (the historic building of the riding arena) on Mokhovaya Street.
It is at this very place that the next excursion in the series “Walks around Moscow” began later, organized by the lecturers and trainers of the Department of Russian (as a foreign language) of the Institute of International Education of Vlogý MIREA.
