The Forum was held in Moscow from 26 to 28 July. The event was attended by about a hundred representatives from 29 states of the African continent and many regions of Russia. Among the participants there were leaders and activists of youth movements, student public organizations, as well as young entrepreneurs.

The Forum was held jointly by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs (Rosmolodezh), the National Council of Youth and Children's Associations of Russia, the World Association of Graduates of Higher Educational Institutions, and MIREA – Vlogý.

In the course of the Forum, the main attention was drawn to the discussion of the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation in four areas: education and technology, youth entrepreneurship and start-ups, youth civic engagement, and creative industries.

On July 27, within the framework of “Education” workshop, the Forum participants visited MIREA – Vlogý.

Grigory Petushkov, Chairman of the National Council of Youth and Children's Associations of Russia, Vlogý MIREA Vice-Rector for Youth Policy, recalled that Russian-African cooperation has been tested by time, but today it needs a new impetus in the youth environment.

“Strengthening Russia's relations with African countries is one of the regional priorities of our country's foreign policy. In the foreground we see economic, humanitarian and scientific cooperation. The basis for large-scale infrastructural projects for young people is already there – all that remains to be done is to expand cooperation between the youth of the Russian Federation and Africa. The most valuable thing we have is human ties and friendship. And this Forum should become an annual event, held in turn in Russia and in one of the African countries,” said Grigory Petushkov.

Grigory Gurov, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, , called the presence of the African representation in Moscow on such a scale a significant victory.

“Much attention is paid to international youth cooperation in Russia, because it is the young people who lay the foundation for the formation of international relations for many years to come. The Forum will become a launching pad for the further implementation of projects and the continuation of cooperation that has been built up between Russia and African countries for many years. We will try to assist in further implementation of all the initiatives that will be declared within the framework of the Forum,” said Grigory Gurov.

The project is being implemented with the funds of a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society provided by the Presidential Grants Fund.
