The team of the Institute of Management Technologies consisting of students: Mark Alekseevich Kopylov (group GEBO-01-19), Sergey Andreevich Zhuikov (group UNBO-01-21), Evgeny Alekseevich Solovyov (group UKMO-01-21) under the supervision of Olga Nikolaevna Beketova, Professor of the Department of Economics. took 1st place in the Economics of the Future of Moscow hackathon.

The organizers of the hackathon which was dedicated to the Day of the Economist and held from October 25 to November 10, were the Government of Moscow and the Russian University of Economics named after G.V. Plekhanov with the support of Sberbank of Russia.

As part of the hackathon, teams of participants representing leading universities in Moscow submitted projects for the development of the city to be discussed, including projects in the field of ecology, energy, the labor market and agriculture. Each team analyzed the problems existing in the region, open data sources provided by the Moscow Government, and outlined potential solutions. The projects included the idea itself, the analysis of practical and economic efficiency of its application and the implementation plan.

The jury which evaluated the work of the teams included:

•  Maria Bagreyeva, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department for Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow;

•  Pavel Smelov, Deputy Head of the Department for Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow;

•  Maxim Chachin, Sales Director of Sberanalytics;

•  Maxim Ivanov, General Director of the State Budgetary Institution Analytical Center;

•  Vladislav Onishchenko, President of the Center for Strategic Research.

The presentation of the work and the summing up of the results took place at the Russian University of Economics named after G.V. Plekhanov. The ����Vlog��ý MIREA team, the winner of the hackathon, presented the project “Waste Management in Moscow – Stimulation for Separate Collection of MSW”. The winners of the event will get an opportunity to take an internship at the Moscow Government.
