The Smart Laboratory Systems laboratory was opened at Vlogý MIREA

30.12.2022

MIREA - Vlogý opened the Smart Production Systems Educational and Scientific Center on the basis of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence. Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, took part in the opening of the new laboratory.

On the basis of the laboratory, a new generation of engineering personnel will be trained, who will be creating information and software systems, and hardware and software complexes for managing smart production.

The laboratory is equipped with unique stands which are authentic control systems connected to machining centers, physical models of machine tools and virtual models of process equipment.

Incorporating the equipment into a single system allows to create digital twins of smart production systems that are as close to the real-life systems as possible. This allows to develop both new production management software and debug and optimize existing production systems and technological processes.

The educational and scientific center is equipped with modern equipment and augmented reality software, which allows to implement smart systems for interactive assembly of complex products.

“The Smart Production Systems Center that is being opened today will make it possible to radically change a number of educational programs and train specialists who are ready to implement to the maximum degree the digital transformation of production. They will carry out this work by automating production systems and optimizing processes, collecting, storing and processing big data using the Internet of things and cloud services, as well as developing and implementing Russian engineering software and digital platforms,” said Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

“Vlogý MIREA is actively developing the infrastructure of the University, creating unique laboratories, modernizing curricula in order to qualitatively change the level of training of its graduates. We are confident that graduates of an advanced engineering university should have the opportunity to study on the most modern equipment, which is only planned to be introduced into real production within the next 5 years, which, in turn, will ensure advanced training of personnel in the interests of the state,” noted the Vlogý MIREA Rector Stanislav Kudzh.
