17.11.2017
Foreign students of the International Education Institute of Moscow Technological University, at the invitation of Lee Seku Umar, a member of the Association of Guinean Students and PhD students in the Russian Federation, who is a student of our University, visited the cultural center "Francoteka" at M.I. Rudomino All-Russian State Library for Foreign Literature to take part in the international celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Guinea.
Our students had an opportunity to communicate with the inhabitants of Guinea, Sudan, Ethiopia, Mali, Gabon, Burundi, Algeria, Armenia, Uzbekistan and other countries. Many of those present are students of prestigious universities and some of them have already become scientists, journalists, artists, writers and representatives of other interesting professions.
At the meeting there was a warm and friendly atmosphere: congratulations on Independence Day, joint singing of the Guinea anthem dedicated to liberation from French colonization, acquaintance with the peculiarities of Guinean dialects. The guests were offered a demonstration of fashionable national clothes, presentation of objects of traditional architecture, 3D exhibition "My Conakry".
The representatives of the Embassy of Guinea in Moscow made an appeal for friendship and cooperation between our countries, expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the USSR in the difficult time for Guinea after the declaration of independence of the Republic in 1958. The diplomats of the Embassy recalled that the first persons of the state were educated in Russia (the former USSR).
And, of course, the holiday would not be completed without national treats and incendiary music. The guests listened to African drums performed by Musa Kulibali and the band "Dzembe Afroshow", they tried to play themselves. The meeting turned out to be lively, creative, filled with the solar energy of free Africa.
