The students of the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens of the Institute of International Education of Vlogý MIREA visited the Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve.

The young people walked along the famous Linden Alley created in the first half of the 19th century, when the palace of Emperor Alexander I was built on the banks of the Moskva River, admired the beauty of the Front Gate which served as an entrance to the Sovereign's Court, got to learn the history of the life of the royal - Konyushenny, Sytny and Povarenny courts, learned what they did in the residence in the summer and how they welcomed foreign guests, visited the house of Peter I, who spent his childhood in Kolomenskoye, took pictures near the monument to the Emperor and had a chance to see how tall they are as compared to the Russian ruler.

The Church of the Ascension of the Lord, the main architectural masterpiece of Kolomenskoye, made a great impression on the audience. Researchers believe that this is the first hipped church in Russia, built of stone. It was this particular building that laid the foundation for a new type of temple construction. In 1994, the monument was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

At the end of the excursion program, the students visited the Church of the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious, built in 1685 at the expense of parishioners on the banks of the Yorga River in the Arkhangelsk Region. In the Soviet years, the temple housed a warehouse, and in the 2000s the church was moved to Kolomenskoye.

A walk across the museum-reserve lasted 4 hours and left a lot of positive impressions.
